Bio:
Dr. Eric Anthony Joseph was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. Before joining TRACS in 2024, Dr. Joseph made history as the first African- American to serve as the sixth President and CEO of Multnomah University and its Evangelical Biblical Seminary in Portland, OR. Over his distinguished higher learning career, he has been a leading advocate for biblical diversity and fairness. His dissertation, A Mandate for Diversity, has garnered acclaim, and he is recognized globally for his expertise in "macro and micro-cultures" within the Justice, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility, Belonging, and Fairness (JDEIABF) framework. Dr. Joseph has provided leadership and training to Faith-Based and Minority-Serving Institutions (including HBCUs). He has also served as a peer reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission and worked with accrediting agencies like WASC and NWCCU.
Dr. Joseph’s higher education career spans nearly four decades, encompassing roles in coaching, consulting, teaching, chaplaincy, and administration at institutions including Arizona State University, Mid- America Christian University (MACU), Langston University (an HBCU), University of Phoenix, Azusa Pacific University, and his alma mater, BIOLA University, from which he holds five earned degrees. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees at MACU. Prior to his presidency at Multnomah University, Dr. Joseph held several influential positions, including PRN consultant for Educational Outreach and Student Success at Arizona State University, founding Vice President for Strategic Initiatives, founding Chief Diversity Officer, and full Professor at MACU. He has taught internationally in England, Austria, Switzerland, and Germany, and possesses extensive expertise in curriculum design, strategic planning, theology, and leadership development. Dr. Joseph has also provided cultural and leadership training to various branches of the U.S. government and White House affiliates through Blacks In Government (BIG).
Among his many accolades, he was named Educator of the Year for the State of Oklahoma and was a runner-up for Teacher of the Year at the University of Phoenix. In addition to his role at TRACS, Dr. Joseph is the founder, president, CEO, and chairman of EAJ Ministries and EAJ Consulting Enterprises, LLC, with offices in California, Arizona, Oregon, and Virginia, and headquarters in Oklahoma.
As a youth, Dr. Joseph was an accomplished student-athlete, achieving eight-time NCCAA All-American status, becoming a two-time national champion, and receiving the prestigious Bob Wheeler Award as Male Track & Field Student-Athlete of the Year. His pursuit of National and Olympic aspirations reflects his lifelong commitment to excellence. He retired from Track & Field in 1997.
Dr. Joseph is married to his childhood sweetheart, Mrs. Jill Joseph, M.S., CCC-SLP. She is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, Educator, Hall of Famer, Kodak All-American, Entrepreneur, and a graduate of The Ohio State University and Howard University. She is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Jack and Jill of America, and The LINKS, Inc.
